The Honda Racing Xtreme Academy has some exciting new additions and plans for 2011 as part of Honda Motor Europe’s commitment to developing young riders.
The Xtreme Academy was launched in 2010 as an initiative to help and grow young riders contesting the big wheel Honda CRF150R machine nationally around Europe. Youngsters enjoyed a number of benefits including a host of training days with a World Championship trainer, rider visits from Honda Pro racers, and access to a huge prize fund.
In 2011 the Xtreme Academy just gets better. With the UK, Italy, Finland and Sweden signed up to take part by hosting these national series, riders from around Europe are set to benefit from an even better learning environment to hone their skills as motocross racers.
The Xtreme Academy has a huge prize fund to offer with vouchers from Honda, as well as overall prizes from sponsors One Industries, Airoh, Renthal, Vans, No-toil, Racebikebitz, and Polisport. Each rider also receives the opportunity to train with a World Championship level trainer, race support from peer mentors, Xtreme Academy clothing and stickers as well as recognition as a Honda rider. The Xtreme Academy championship runs as part of an existing national series in each of the countries involved, and was won by Adam Sterry in the UK last year.
This year the Xtreme Academy will be represented by Rev Racing at each of the BYMX rounds. Rev Racing is run by experienced motocross expert Mark Reville, who is best known for running the Thoresway Motoparc, Caistor and Salters Lane, Binbrook tracks in Lincolnshire and has been involved in motocross for over 18 years. His plan is to expand the Xtreme Academy in 2011 as well as offer discounted training sessions for CRF150R ACU riders, discount at the Rev Racing tracks and host a number of specialist training events with pro-riders for CRF150R BYMX national racers.
Rev Racing is attending all of the BYMX meetings to assist Honda riders and will be encouraging the youngsters to interact with Honda to get the best out of their machines and riding. Having raced himself and worked with riders of all abilities, Mark is experienced in ride and race preparation as well as tuition, making this an ideal opportunity for riders to benefit from being part of the Honda family. Rev Racing will also be carrying a number of spares at events for Honda riders in the Xtreme Academy race vehicle.
To be part of the 2011 Honda Xtreme Academy, big wheel CRF150R riders just need to register with Mark during the race weekend to be eligible for the championship, freebies, official Xtreme Academy clothing and more.
